How it works
- 1
Launch
Anyone launches a coin for a KOL on pump.fun through us and picks how its fees are split. In the same transaction, the coin's creator fees are locked to two fresh wallets made just for it: one for the KOL's share, one for everyone else's.
- 2
Trade
People trade it like any pump.fun coin. Every trade pays pump.fun's creator fee, and it builds up for the coin.
- 3
Post
Fans post about it on X and submit the links. Text and image posts are bull posts, videos are clips. Both earn by views.
- 4
Claim
Every 10 minutes the engine has pump.fun pay each coin's fees out to its two wallets, on-chain, in the split locked at launch.
- 5
Pay
The KOL claims their wallet whenever they like (or it's sent straight to them, if the launcher gave their wallet). The community wallet works out what that coin's bull posters, clippers, burn and ops are each owed, and pays them in SOL straight from itself. The burn share buys and burns $KOLPAD.
Launching a coin
On the launch page:
- Pick the KOL, by X account or by wallet. By X, search their handle and we show their profile so you know it's the right one. By wallet, paste their Solana address.
- Name it: image, name, ticker and an optional description.
- Socials, optional. The X link defaults to the KOL's profile.
- Dev buy, optional: buy the coin in the launch transaction itself, before anyone else, up to 10 SOL.
- Fee split: drag the dividers to decide who earns what. See the split.
You approve once in your wallet, which signs two transactions:
- The launch. It creates the coin on pump.fun with a contract address ending in
KoL, does your dev buy, and locks the coin's creator fees to its two fee wallets, all in one transaction. The split is set before the coin can trade at all, so there's never a moment where its fees go anywhere else. - 0.0015 SOL to the coin's community wallet, sent only after the launch lands, so it's never wasted on a failed launch. A brand-new wallet has nothing to pay network fees with; this lets it pay for the coin's first payout. It can't go in the launch transaction, which is already at Solana's size limit.
You pay only Solana rent and network fees (about 0.02 SOL), the 0.0015 SOL, and pump.fun's normal fee on the dev buy. There is no launch fee.
Before the coin is listed here, we read its fee setup back from the chain and check it pays exactly the two wallets, in exactly the split you chose. If it doesn't, it isn't listed.
The split
Every coin's fees go four ways. The launcher drags the split between the first three: the KOL, bull posters and clippers. The KOL always gets at least 45%. Those three share 85%; the last 15% is fixed, burn + ops. The split is locked at launch and can't be changed after, by anyone. The default:
KOL
The KOL the coin is for, picked by X account or by wallet. At least 45%. Paid from the KOL wallet.
Bull posters
Posts on X that mention the coin (text or image), split by views. Paid from the community wallet.
Clippers
Video posts on X that mention the coin, split by views. Paid from the community wallet.
Burn + ops
Fixed: 10% market-buys $KOLPAD and burns it, 5% runs the platform. Paid from the community wallet.
On pump.fun the split is just two numbers: the KOL wallet gets the KOL's percentage, the community wallet gets the rest (50% with the default). Each cycle the community wallet's SOL is divided between bull posters, clippers, burn and ops in the launcher's proportions. Every coin page shows its own split and how much has gone to each part so far.
Where the money goes
Each coin has two wallets of its own, created fresh at launch and never shared with any other coin:
- The KOL wallet gets the KOL's percentage. If the launcher gave the KOL's wallet, it's sent straight there. If the KOL was picked by X, it stays in this wallet until they claim it by logging in with that X account.
- The community wallet gets everything else. Each cycle the engine works out what that coin's bull posters, clippers, burn and ops are owed, in the launcher's proportions, and pays them straight from this wallet. It never mixes with any other coin's money.
pump.fun itself pays the fees into those two wallets, using its creator-fee sharing: we trigger the payout, but pump.fun's program decides who gets what, from the split locked at launch. Only fees a coin actually generated are ever split. There is no central Kolpad wallet: nothing is paid from anywhere but the coin's own two wallets.
Network fees come out of the coin's own fees too. The community wallet pays for its payouts and burns, and those costs come off its next fees before they're divided. The KOL wallet pays the fee of sending the KOL their share, out of that share.
A brand-new Solana wallet has to hold a small minimum (about 0.0009 SOL, Solana's rent) to exist, so a coin's very first payout waits until its fees cover that for the KOL wallet. The community wallet already has it from the launch funding. That minimum always stays in the community wallet.
Each coin page links to both of its fee wallets on Solscan, so you can watch the money arrive and leave.
KOLs
Every coin is launched for one KOL. They get the biggest cut: at least 45% of everything it makes, more if the launcher chooses.
Picked by wallet: their share is sent straight to that wallet every cycle. Nothing to do.
Picked by X: KOLs don't need to do anything to start earning. Their share builds up in a wallet made for them and that coin. On the Claim page they continue with that X account (no wallet needed to log in), see every coin made for them, and press Claim to send it all to any wallet they choose. Or they take a coin wallet's private key and import it into Phantom. The first X account to claim a handle keeps it, so if the handle is later renamed and taken by someone else, they can't claim.
Bull posters
Bull post about a coin on X: any post that mentions its $TICKER or contract address. Then paste the link on the coin's page. That's it.
- Text and image posts are bull posts. Videos are clips (below).
- It has to be from the X account you logged in with, and posted after the coin launched.
- It earns from every cycle for 7 days after it was posted. Its score is the square root of its views (1.25× for posts with an image), and the bull posters' cut is split between all of a coin's live bull posts by score.
- Views are re-read every couple of hours, so a post that takes off earns more as it goes. A deleted post stops earning.
- Up to 5 live posts per account per coin, bull posts and clips together.
If a coin has no bull posts yet, that cut waits. The first posts split everything that built up.
Clippers
Post a video about a coin on X (a clip of the stream, an edit, a meme video) mentioning its $TICKER or contract address, and submit the link on its page. Any post with video or a GIF counts as a clip.
Clips have their own cut of the fees, so they only compete with other clips. Same rules as bull posts: from your logged-in X, after launch, earning for 7 days, split by the square root of views, views re-read every couple of hours.
Payouts
- Every 10 minutes, automatically. Nothing to claim, no transaction to sign.
- Paid in SOL, straight to your wallet, once you're owed 0.005 SOL or more. Smaller amounts roll over and are never lost.
- Bull posters and clippers are paid from the community wallet of the coin they posted about, many wallets per transaction. KOLs are paid straight from their coin's KOL wallet.
- Each coin pays from its own wallet, so if you earn from several coins, each one pays you once you're owed 0.005 SOL from it.
- Your Earn page shows what you've earned in each role, what's on the way, and every payout with its transaction.
$KOLPAD
Kolpad's own coin. 10% of every coin's fees buy $KOLPAD on the market and burn it, so every coin that does well shrinks the supply.
$KOLPAD itself has no KOL. Its own fees go 40% to its bull posters, 35% to its clippers and 25% to burning itself.
Keeping it fair
- To submit posts, your X needs 50+ followers and to be at least 30 days old.
- One X account links to one wallet. Logging in with a new wallet moves it there.
- Scores are the square root of views, so ten times the views earns about three times as much: big accounts earn more, but no single post can eat a pool.
- A post has to be yours, mention the coin, be newer than the coin, and be public. Protected accounts can't be read and don't earn.
- Every claim, payout and burn is a public transaction on the payouts page.
Check it yourself
- Each coin page links its two fee wallets on Solscan. pump.fun's fee-sharing account for the coin lists exactly those two wallets and their shares.
- The payouts page lists every claim, payout and burn with its transaction.
- The split shown on a coin page is the one locked on-chain at launch.
FAQ
Do I need to claim anything?+
Bull posters and clippers: no. Payouts are pushed to your wallet every 10 minutes once you're owed 0.005 SOL or more. Smaller amounts roll over until they cross the line. KOLs picked by X claim their share on the Claim page, whenever they like.
Can a KOL say no?+
A coin can be launched for any public X account. If the KOL never claims, their share stays in the coin's own KOL wallet, untouched. Nobody else can take it. Every other role still earns from day one.
What if someone launches a coin for me?+
Go to the Claim page and continue with your X. You'll see every coin made for you and what each one's wallet has collected. Press Claim to send it all to any wallet, or take a wallet's private key and import it into Phantom. You don't need to hold the coin or promote it.
Where do coins launch?+
Every coin is a normal pump.fun coin: same bonding curve, same graduation to PumpSwap, tradeable on pump.fun and everywhere else. The only difference is that its creator fees are locked at launch, in the same transaction, to two fresh wallets made just for that coin. Nobody can redirect them later, including us.
What does logging in with X do?+
It proves you own the account: KOLs log in to claim their coins' fees, bull posters and clippers to link the wallet they're paid to. It's X's own login: we never see your password, and we only ask to read your profile, never to post.
Why do my posts need to mention the ticker?+
That's how a post is tied to a coin. The $TICKER as a whole word, or the contract address, anywhere in the post or in a post it quotes.
Does a video count as a bull post too?+
No, each post earns from one pool. Video (and GIF) posts are clips and share the clippers' cut. Everything else is a bull post and shares the bull posters' cut.
Is there a fee to join?+
No. Logging in and submitting posts is free and needs no transaction. Launching costs only Solana rent and network fees (about 0.02 SOL), plus 0.0015 SOL that funds the coin's community wallet, plus any dev buy.
What does Kolpad take?+
5% of each coin's fees for ops. Another 10% buys and burns $KOLPAD. Nothing else, and only from fees a coin actually made. There is no central Kolpad wallet holding anyone's money: every coin pays out from its own two wallets.
Who pays the network fees?+
Each coin pays its own, out of its fees. The launch sends 0.0015 SOL to the coin's community wallet so it can pay for its first payout. After that, every network fee the community wallet pays comes off its next fees before they're divided. Sending the KOL their share costs a network fee too, and that comes out of the KOL's share.
